Minding One's Business

The Mass reading this morning from St. Paul exhorts us to not judge one another because we all are to appear before the tribunal of God and give an account of our own actions.  "Why then do you judge your brother or sister?  Or you, why do you look down on your brother or sister?  For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of God; for it is written:  "As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bend before me, and every tongue shall give praise to God. So then, each of us shall give an account of himself to God. " (Romans 14:7-12)

If I have to put a modern interpretation to this, I would simply say that, we should mind our own business more often!  Being the guardian of other people's  virtues and neglecting our own, is one of the greatest spiritual temptations around.  And we all seem to fall for it!
