Monasteries of nuns within the 
Carmelite Order (the Ancient Observance) are autonomous, but in various 
regions of the world they come together in federations to share ideas

In April this year, during a meeting of prioresses, 11 of the 12 
monasteries of nuns within the Carmelite Order in Italy decided to join 
together in a federation. This formalisation of relations follows many 
years of discussion and some previous experience of cooperation in 
various fields, such as formation. The monasteries are part of the two 
Provinces and the one General Commissariat of the Order in Italy.  FULL ARTICLE
