New Kind of Martyrdom

I heard it said by someone that the Age of Martyrs is long gone in the Church. I don't believe so. Paying attention to Third World Catholic News Headlines will prove us wrong. Martyrs are still very much the "seed of Christianity" in the Church even in the 21st century. Our culture has changed so much that one, so to speak, undergoes a bloodless martyrdom amidst oppositions, litigations and contradictions in our present Culture of Death society. I am posting a link to a museum opening celebration dedicated to the 16 Carmelite Nuns who gave their lives for the Church and for the end of the Reign of Terror in France. It's very inspirational.

  1. I think martyrdom is to remain chaste in such society, especially young people. It's my cross.
