The Gospel reading today reminds us that God is satisfied with little. The rich man who gave much, gave from the surplus which he had. The widow who gave little, gave from the little she possesed. I don't know about you, but I cannot give God much. I do not preach or give speeches. I am not influential to effect a political change. I am one of those "little souls" St. Therese describes who can give only the little that I have. But I try to give it away with love. A little good intention, time for those who need me, small services hidden from others. God looks at the heart.
